To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before Review

To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before Review

What if all the crushes you ever had found out how you felt about them…all at once? Lara Jean Song Covey’s love life goes from imaginary to out of control when the love letters for every boy she’s ever loved-five in all– are mysteriously mailed out. From New York Times Bestselling Author, Jenny Han, the film adaption of the popular YA novel stars actress Lana Condor (Alita: Battle Angel, X-Men: Apocalypse) and Noah Centineo (Sierra Burgess Is A Loser, The Fosters). (Via Rotten Tomatoes)

My Review: Honestly, I don’t understand the hype for this movie. This movie is a typical romantic comedy. This movie is very predictable in every sense. The acting was decent at most. This movie is definitely for young girls who believe love works exactly like the movie. All in all, this movies is typical and mediocre. I can’t believe people are going crazy over something that has been done a million times over. But, I can honestly say the fact the lead actress was Vietnamese refreshing and major. I’m not necessarily saying this movie was bad it’s just something I have seen a hundred times before just with different actors. she fakes dates the boy, then fall in love with, then they date ‘for real’, break up, and at the end of the movie somehow get back together. Typical. I would only recommend if you want to watch Netflix only.

Netflix Movie Recommendations?

Finding good content on Netflix can be hard. There a lot of movies on Netflix that are just a waste of time. The movies down below are movies that I highly recommend!

#1 What happened to Monday?

This movie is definitely one of Netflix hidden gems. This movie is a drama/thriller and very interesting all the way through! One of Netflix best films!

#2 Thor Ragnarok

I would highly recommend watching Thor: The God of Thunder and Thor: The dark world First. Also, I would say you don’t have to like superheroes movies to watch this but, if you do it would certainly help. Thor movies is to me is the best of Marvel movies! Also people watch Thor alone just for Chris Hemsworth (Thor) but I definitely watch for Tom Hiddleston (Loki) and also because its really good & funny!

#3 Bright

This movie is really different from the normal movies. But, it is really interesting and the message is really bold & good! Also, Will Smith is the main character so the movie is automatically good right? YES!!

#4 Lion

OKAY SO THIS MOVIE IS EXTREMELY EMOTIONAL AND SAD! I CRIED THE FIRST THREE MINUTES OF THE MOVIE AND I AM NOT EMOTIONAL AT ALL!!!! This movie is based on a true story. Also, if you don’t like movie with subtitles this is not the movie for you. But, trust me its really GOOD!

#5 Roxanne Roxanne

This movie is raw, real, and powerful and telling the true story of Shante. The acting in this film is some of the best acting I have ever seen!

Traffik Review

Traffik Review

TRAFFIKKKK

In the action packed thriller, Traffik, Brea (Paula Patton) and John (Omar Epps) are off for a romantic weekend in the mountains. Isolated at a remote estate, the couple is surprised by the arrival of two friends, Darren (Laz Alonso) and Malia (Roselyn Sanchez). Just when the weekend starts to get back on track, a violent biker gang turns up and begins to torment them. The foursome are forced to fight for their lives against the gang who will stop at nothing to protect their secrets. (Via Rotten tomatoes)

I watched this movie last night for the first time and it was ‘ok’. I see what they were trying to do but it didn’t play out that way. I would say that the actors were great and made up for the bad writing! This film was predictable like all thrillers that focus on the same issues as this film. The only originality of the film was the human trafficking and the survivor, Brea being a journalist. Everything else you most definitely have seen in other movies before. This could have definitely been a lifetime movie. I will say there was no climax, everything was kind of like “oh, he’s about to die!” or “now, why is she doing that?” the movie was too predictable in every sense even though the message was good.  I do not fully recommend this movie but, if you’re bored and just want to watch something that’s slightly interesting this will be the movie to watch. Overall, Paula Patton performance was amazing and she rarely made stupid mistakes/decisions. If I were to rate this movie it will be 3/5. *trailer below

Coco Review (2017)

Coco Review (2017)

Image result for coco movie

Yesterday, while trying to find something to watch to go with my noodles I stumbled upon “Coco”. This movie is typically for ages 5 to 7 year old’s but, I am 22 & I watched and loved it! This movie is about a young boy named Miguel who crosses into the afterlife to get the blessing of his popular musician Great-Great-Great grandfather so he can become a musician. Miguel Family has banned even the thought of music because Miguel grandfather left his family to become a musician. I think this movie is a perfect family movie! The animations and the visuals are so amazing and so real life like. This movie will definitely have you emotional! I found myself teary-eyed during most of the movie. Also, I think the storyline of the movie may be a little too advanced for some age group of kids, mostly toddlers. I do not know for a fact if the tradition in the movie is practiced but I did find it to be unique and sweet! Moral of the story, REMEMBER YOUR DEAD FAMILY MEMBERS TOO!

Seasons: 9

Duration Of Episodes: 20-25 minutes

My Review:  I started this show in June of this year and finished a week & a half later. Yes, i have no life! This is one of the best shows I have ever watched. I am high key mad it took me this long to watch it. This comedy is not for everyone though. If you do not like corny or dry humor jokes this show may not be for you. If your sense humor is anywhere close to mine (I find almost everything funny) then this show is perfect for you. Trust me, every episode is extremely funny! Lastly, Michael Scott is literally The WORLD’S BEST BOSS EVER!!

Spoiler Alerts: Major characters do leave. Jim and Pam may not be your favorite couple, mine were Michael & Holly.

The Walking Dead

the walking dead

Summary: The Walking Dead is based on a comic book series that follows a group of people who are living in a zombie apocalypse.

Seasons: 8

Duration of episodes: 40-60 minutes

*Walkers=Zombies.

My Review: Before watching this show, it was highly recommended by almost everyone. I literally binged this show for a month, only reason it took me so long is almost every season is 16 episodes long and 40+ minutes. This show is really survival of the fittest, the things these characters have to endure just to live is crazy. Personally, i would have gave up a long time ago and just became a walker(zombie). This show is extremely drama-filled and action packed. Even though this is a show about zombies it is not a all scary. I am more scared of Negan, who is human than the walkers. You will meet Negan in season seven, and boy is his entrance the most craziest thing i ever watched, seriously! Lastly, Andrew Lincoln alone is a strong enough reason to watch this show. all in all, this show has prepared me for an actual apocalypse.

What don’t i like about the show? There are a couple of things I do not like about the show. I think season eight was its worse season, the show was not living up to its potential this season. I do not like how rick is portrayed in season 7. Also, some of the story lines were dragged and not as good as they could have been.

Spoiler Alert: The writer of this show do not care about killing off your favorite characters. I am definitely #TEAMRICHONNE.

Insecure

insecure-_2017-peabody

Summary: Insecure is an American comedy-drama television series based partially on Issa Rae’s acclaimed web series Awkward Black Girl.

Seasons: 2

Duration of Episodes: 30 minutes

My Review: First of all, this show is just one of those good vibes type of shows. Also, it’s for the culture. The soundtrack is bomb and so is the cast. Extremely relatable to the point it don’t seem like you’re watching A TV show it’s like you’re watching the characters real lives play out. Molly and Issa relationship are GOALS! it’s hard to put into words how good this show is but trust me it’s definitely one of those shows you want to binge watch.

Spoiler Alert: #Teamissa or #TeamLawrence? also, the are a lot of explicit scenes so I do not recommend watching this with your parents!

Grey’s Anatomy

greys-anatomy-memes-long-live-grey-s-5b1ed102fa6bcc0036c4d53b

Summary: A medical drama series that focuses on a group of doctors at a hospital in Seattle.

Seasons: 14

Duration of Episodes: 55-60 minutes

My Review: This show is EXTREMELY EMOTIONAL! The story lines are addictive. The cast is perfect. Shonda can do no wrong. Personally, I watch the show from beginning to ending at least once a year. From watching this show I feel like I can save lives medically! Overall, this show is must-see TV. This show have 14 seasons so they must be doing something right, right?

Spoiler Alert: Lexie and mark is my favorite Grey’s couple. There are HUGEEEE character deaths!

THIS WILL BE YOUR MOOD ALWAYS WITH THIS SHOW!

The Handmaid’s Tale

landscape-1513180995-handmaids-tale

Summary: Based on the best-selling novel by Margaret Atwood, this series is set in Gilead, a totalitarian society in what used to be part of the United States.

Seasons: 2

Duration of Episodes: 45-60 minutes

My Review: THIS SHOW IS WILDDDDDDDD! I never been so pissed off watching a show in my life. The acting is PERFECT! The cast is PERFECT! While watching this show I was so pissed off that I had to do research on who was the writer of this show. I had to know who thought like this like, who comes up with something so disturbing like this? Then I read it was based off a book. This show is so disturbing but, interesting. Every episode left off with a cliff hanger so, even though I was sleepy I had to continue watching! I actually binged this show after doing a research paper of Female Genital Mutilation in Somalia. Even though, FGM is not connected to this show except for one episode. I made the connection with how women are treated in Somalia pertaining to FGM, and how women are treated in this show. In short, this show is amazing and I hope this show never become a reality. I think I might move to Canada just to be safe. Also, I recommend watching a cartoon or comedy after this show because you will be traumatized. This is not a horror but it’s a very intense drama and can be considered a Thriller.

*Trigger Warning: This show do include rape, violence, and explicit scenes.

Spoiler Alert: “Praised Be”, “Blessed Be The Fruit”, And “We’ve Been sent good weather” will definitely be in your vocabulary after watching this show. Also, I don’t know how I feel about season 2 finale.

Shameless

shameless

Summary: This is A drama-based TV show centered around The siblings of a dysfunctional Chicago family who struggles while dealing with their alcoholic and drug addict parents.

Seasons: 8

Duration of episodes: 45-60 minutes

My Review: This show is raw and real. The struggles this family face is crazy but funny. This is definitely a comedy with a little of drama. This show is like watching just watching weekly, hour updates of the Gallagher family. The actors on this show is soooo good it’s like they are playing their real life selves. In short, this show touches on sensitive subjects, the cast is amazing, and the writing is very BOLD!

What I Don’t like about the show? In later seasons some of the story lines become redundant and a waste of time.

Spoiler Alert: none.
