I just finished binge-watching YOU last night and I am at work bored so I decided to give my review on the now popular tv series. I decided to watch this show after all the hype I seen on twitter. THE HYPE IS WORTH IT! this has to be one of Netflix’s best tv series out now. the storyline, the plot, the climax, everything is almost perfect. for everyone who has seen gossip girl, I found myself calling Penn Badgley who plays Joe, Dan the first episode. let me just say joe, Dan, or Penn played this role perfectly. his acting was magnificent, to say the least. every episode was interesting. there was no “bad” episode. I highly recommend watching this show!

Nappily Ever After Review

Violet Jones (Sanaa Lathan) has a seemingly perfect life — a high-powered job, an eligible doctor boyfriend and a meticulously maintained, flawless coiffure. But after a life-changing event doesn’t go according to her plan, and a hair-raising incident at the hairdresser, her life begins to unravel. Eventually, Violet realizes that she was living the life she thought she was supposed to live, not the one she really wanted. (Via Rotten Tomatoes)

My Review:  This was a movie I thoroughly enjoyed all the way through. The message was important and very relatable for all black women. All women would enjoy this movie also but, black women journey with their hair will draw them more to this movie. I think the acting was ‘okay’ by the cast. I love that the main characters are black or a minority. I love that the message of this movie correlates to what little and adult black women have to go through with their hair. This movie plays on a lot of stereotypes of the black women about their hair. I think the storyline should have been a little stronger. There was no climax the movie sort of just flowed through the whole time. It was sort of predictable. I hated the ending because it was extremely subpar. All In All, I am not necessarily sure that I would recommend this movie because it did not exceed my expectations at all. but, if you’re bored and need something to watch this can be it!

* If you did watch the movie, leave in the comments if you liked it or not!

Sierra Burgess Is A Big Loser (SPOILER-FREE)

Sierra Burgess Is A Big Loser (SPOILER-FREE)

SIERRA BURGESS IS A LOSER is a modern Rom-com retelling of the Cyrano de Bergerac story set in high school. The story centers on Sierra (Shannon Purser), an intelligent teen who does not fall into the shallow definition of high school pretty but, in a case of mistaken identity that results in unexpected romance, must team with the popular girl (Kristine Froseth) in order to win her crush. Also starring RJ Cyler, Noah Centineo, Chrissy Metz and Lea Thompson. (Via Rotten Tomatoes)

My Review: I watched this movie last night and I thought it was really good. It’s one of Netflix’s new romantic comedy movies. A lot of the scenes were cringe-worthy I even got second-hand awkwardness. The story/script is not perfect but it kept me intrigued all the way through. I did see a lot of negative reviews about this movie but, my personal opinion is that it is better than “The Kissing Booth” and “To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before” two other New Netflix teen romantic comedies that are overly hyped. This movie is actually very relatable and hits on the insecurities that many women go through and have. The cast was okay. I think the main character Sierra/Shannon Purser is extremely talented and carried the whole movie. Every movie is not perfect and it was definitely some quirks in this movie that should have been straightened out. But in hindsight, I highly recommend watching this movie because it was something I completely enjoyed.

Netflix Movie Recommendations?

Finding good content on Netflix can be hard. There a lot of movies on Netflix that are just a waste of time. The movies down below are movies that I highly recommend!

#1 What happened to Monday?

This movie is definitely one of Netflix hidden gems. This movie is a drama/thriller and very interesting all the way through! One of Netflix best films!

#2 Thor Ragnarok

I would highly recommend watching Thor: The God of Thunder and Thor: The dark world First. Also, I would say you don’t have to like superheroes movies to watch this but, if you do it would certainly help. Thor movies is to me is the best of Marvel movies! Also people watch Thor alone just for Chris Hemsworth (Thor) but I definitely watch for Tom Hiddleston (Loki) and also because its really good & funny!

#3 Bright

This movie is really different from the normal movies. But, it is really interesting and the message is really bold & good! Also, Will Smith is the main character so the movie is automatically good right? YES!!

#4 Lion

OKAY SO THIS MOVIE IS EXTREMELY EMOTIONAL AND SAD! I CRIED THE FIRST THREE MINUTES OF THE MOVIE AND I AM NOT EMOTIONAL AT ALL!!!! This movie is based on a true story. Also, if you don’t like movie with subtitles this is not the movie for you. But, trust me its really GOOD!

#5 Roxanne Roxanne

This movie is raw, real, and powerful and telling the true story of Shante. The acting in this film is some of the best acting I have ever seen!
