Traffik Review

In the action packed thriller, Traffik, Brea (Paula Patton) and John (Omar Epps) are off for a romantic weekend in the mountains. Isolated at a remote estate, the couple is surprised by the arrival of two friends, Darren (Laz Alonso) and Malia (Roselyn Sanchez). Just when the weekend starts to get back on track, a violent biker gang turns up and begins to torment them. The foursome are forced to fight for their lives against the gang who will stop at nothing to protect their secrets. (Via Rotten tomatoes)

I watched this movie last night for the first time and it was ‘ok’. I see what they were trying to do but it didn’t play out that way. I would say that the actors were great and made up for the bad writing! This film was predictable like all thrillers that focus on the same issues as this film. The only originality of the film was the human trafficking and the survivor, Brea being a journalist. Everything else you most definitely have seen in other movies before. This could have definitely been a lifetime movie. I will say there was no climax, everything was kind of like “oh, he’s about to die!” or “now, why is she doing that?” the movie was too predictable in every sense even though the message was good.  I do not fully recommend this movie but, if you’re bored and just want to watch something that’s slightly interesting this will be the movie to watch. Overall, Paula Patton performance was amazing and she rarely made stupid mistakes/decisions. If I were to rate this movie it will be 3/5. *trailer below
